Everyone is a pedestrian at one point, and it is a pretty vulnerable position to be in, which is why there are so many laws in place to protect them.
What I learned from this experience is that I have to be smarter about what I do and how I do it. Another thing I learned from the experience is to go with my first instinct because it’s usually right.
My experience of moving has taught me that letting go of your past and changing your environment can sometimes be an extremely renewing experience.
Before I was born, my dad was put into prison. I’m not in contact with my mom. When my Grandmother came to get me after I was born, she separated herself from my family.
According to The San Jose Mercury News there were 98 murders in Oakland last year. I knew 4 people out of those 98 people who were murdered.
People feel like there is no one to turn to because they’ll be judged or looked at differently like they won’t be seen as a person but as a victim. Mentally it can tear you down and leave you broken.
When you plan your high school career accept that things are going to change. Plans you may have will not always stay the same.
Some can be very bad. At that time I felt sympathy, and fear. That is when I realized that there are two sides to a person.
