I figured once I looked better, I would feel better too. But, I didn’t.
Here’s what I hear from everyone in my family: “Why you so skinny?” “Boy you thiiin!” “Get some meat on your bones.” Okay, I know I’m skinny. But bringing it up at every family gathering doesn’t change anything.
I was always proud to be the designated fat boy in the group. So it was hard to see the gains in losing weight.
I started dieting to stop the teasing, and feel pretty. I even became bulimic, but I realized that I was dieting for other people, not for me.
