I’ve been dealing with acne since I was 10. I tried covering my face behind my hair. It got so bad that I even turned down last minute invitations to go out with friends.
It’s frustrating that people are still using “gay” or “lesbian” to insult or describe clothing. Like…how can you dress like a sexuality?
It’s becoming a little easier for people to be proud of who they are even if it isn’t what people originally thought was “normal” or “attractive.” We’re changing what those words mean and I think that’s a move in the right direction.
Despite the benefits of having safe spaces on campus, debates on whether or not they serve a good purpose is still out there. There’s this idea that safe spaces coddle college students rather than prepare them for the real world. But that is NOT how I see it.
