At the end of February, President Donald Trump rescinded protections for transgender students put in place by the Obama administration. The White House made it clear that the federal government would no longer require schools to allow transgender students to use bathrooms matching their gender identity.
Then this week, the Supreme Court reversed a decisions to hear arguments for the case of Gavin Grimm, a transgender teen from Virginia who is fighting to use the high school bathroom that corresponds with his gender identity.
