Americans are obsessed with solving other people’s problems. We all feel productive when we solve problems, but when we start diminishing people’s problems into small, seeming solvable ones, we start to over simplify them.

During my travels in South Africa I saw a whole different mentality and approach to life. One where people are happy with less, and are much more appreciative of what they have.
Those who live in the city are constantly being exposed to background chatter that is so common we barely notice it. However, being in a place without the sounds of cars honking and people talking is a very calming experience.
