YR Raw

YRaw offers the inside (and lightly edited) scoop from Youth Radio’s training programs. In the introductory training, high school students produce a weekly radio show on YR Raw. Tune in Friday nights at 6:15pm by clicking the “Listen Live” button below. In the intermediate training, students specialize in one media concentration (journalism, music or multimedia). A New Experience, an Open Mind

As a child, I had the strange intention of neglecting my Korean heritage. I just did not want to be a part of it. So when my mother mentioned that she and I would be visiting South Korea for six weeks, I was mortified. I was determined to form the worst possible view of Korea, and scowled upon everyone I met there. However, my view point quickly changed as I began to experience life in a new country.

Beautiful Hair

The hair was so silky and straight. I felt like I was a whole new person because I had hair almost to my elbows! I couldn’t wait to go home and take so many pictures and post it on Instagram and I was even more excited to go to school and show my friends the new look. I hoped my friends didn’t think my hair made me look younger but made me look more mature. I got my hair like this because I felt it would make me feel older and wiser.
