This Saturday was the one year anniversary of “Oakland Drops Beats.” Bump Records, Today’s Future Sound, and of course Youth Radio were featured in the showcase. Chioma and Thomas performed a beautiful song together. Anatesia came out of her shell and sung her heart out. Nasif performed his hit, and Sou’s voice put the audience in a trance. There were many wonderful performances, but the one that really stood out to me, other than Youth Radios’, was “My Introduction” by DayDay, an artist from Bump Records. During her performance, she had lots of energy and her lyrics were very relatable. There were also live producers who were only 10 and 12 years old! If you missed this showcase, you missed out on a lot. Luckily there will be another one in August, so don’t hesitate to show some love!
