Everyone in our society thinks the best clothings are designer clothes. Michael Kors, True Religion, Jordan’s, Gucci and Louis Vuitton are some well known examples. These clothes are pleasing to the eye to some. Others might not care about clothes at all and are just thankful to have something to wear on their back. But some often get made fun of because of what they’re wearing.
When I was in the 6th grade I never had anything designer. I wore a white hoodie with black Converse that had holes in them almost everyday because I wasn’t as wealthy as I am now. Being that this was how I dressed I often got put down.
I started to dress in anything that was in style because of this experience. Now unfortunately I spend a load of money on just clothes.
According to Lifestyle Magazine, teenagers spend about $100 a week and approximately 30% of it is spent on clothing. That means around $30 per week is being spent on clothes. It doesn’t seem like much but when you think about it that’s $120 per month and $1,440 per year. Not every teen has that kind of money.
You shouldn’t have to spend a lot of money on your clothing just to feel like you’re fitting in. It’s okay to be different and when someone isn’t wearing the latest Jordan’s or the cutest clothes they shouldn’t have to worry about being put down.
