There has been a large increase in the number of black women that are traveling. Sometimes with agencies that are specifically created for groups of black women to travel, or friends going together some are even going on solo trips.
I considered studying computer science…but I ultimately opted for less screen time and more hammer time.
Personally I think that no matter what you specify as and what gender you are we all equal but it’s the amount of effort and knowledge you have and put into the field that makes the difference.
After a lifetime of being mocked for her brown skin, Amanda Agustin describes how she came to embrace her skin tone and love laying out in sun.
“Even though it’s lonely, that actually makes me work harder. I feel like us being in the computer science major is going to open up doors for younger women of color to go in.”
During my 8th grade year, I had the coach with anger problems and in one game one of the players upset him and he cussed at her in front of everyone. It was scary and I didn’t know what to do but listen to him so I didn’t get yelled at, too.

There’s a growing national awareness about racial injustice in American, but often attention is focused on young black men. However, many African-American young women say the issues that most affect them rarely get talked about publicly. They say they sometimes feel invisible.
