Have you read the movie “Divergent”? For those of you that haven’t, then you should read the book first! I first started reading this book because the cover picture captured me and the summary seemed pretty interesting. The book has tons of details and information that just draws you into a new world. You get so engrossed in this book that you wouldn’t want to put it down until you get to the end. Divergent, by Veronica Roth, is about a dystopian society where everyone who reaches their six-teeth birthday takes an aptitude test. The test determines what faction of society they go to; whether they get put into Abnegation; for selflessness, Erudite; for being knowledgeable, Candor; for the honest, Amity; for the peaceful, or Dauntless, for the brave. All factions live in segregation. For sixteen- year old Beatrice prior a.k.a Tris, she scores beyond the ordinary. Her scores tell her that she is Abnegation, Erudite and Dauntless. She is what people would call, divergent. People who are divergent in this society get killed. So in order to conceal her real identity, she chooses to be put into dauntless because it was the best way to hide her self. Once there, she meets her instructor, Tobias Eaton a.k.a Four, who she later falls in love with. Tris and four eventually get involved in a plot where the Erudite is plotting to control the Dauntless using mind control to attack the Abnegation. Tris and Four desperately search for a way to break free of the mind control and free all the Dauntless. After I finished reading Divergent, I couldn’t wait for the next book to come out. Instead, the movie for Divergent came out and I noticed that there was a lot of details that got left out. But all in all, I liked the movie. I would strongly recommend anyone who loves action, adventure and romance to read this book.
